Ok folks I know what one might be asking .. why would you go to a stand in a mall for some sushi but I was hungry and had a hankering for some asian cuisine and I was not disappointed. I have had sushi all around the greater Portland area and although I would not rate this the best in the area but if you are in the Maine Mall, you should give it a whirl. Make sure that you try to grab some outside of the busier times when the food court is jammed like sardines. The staff is super friendly always saying hi to people and the stand even has some seating right on the cart (about three stools). I had the Spicy tuna roll, the chicken teriyaki and the Philadelphia roll where the salmon and tuna tasted VERY fresh (which I was surprised with in a mall kiosk style stand). If you are looking for a quick bite to eat when you are shopping in the mall, check it out. I have also heard that they have another stand alone restaurant and are pretty successful.

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could it is good but not great. I little heavy on the salt but mall mainstay. I go withe the classic chicken over white rice.

This may be the best Mall sushi you will ever taste and the prices are equally great! The only drawback is the lunchtime crowd, so get there early or a little later than lunch rush if you have limited time.

Always loved going here when I was stuck at the Mall. Chicken was always fresh and hot and always loved their Teriyaki. Great amount of chicken for the price, especially when you double the meat.

Crappy mall food is a guilty pleasure of mine. Sarku has always been one of my favorites! It's simple but tasty. I remember when I was younger my cousin and I once snuck some of their chicken teriyaki into the movies! Seriously though, it's tasty and bad for you, two of my favorite things. I also love their sushi stand's spicy chicken teriyaki sushi! It's delicious with just the right amount of spicy!

The wait here took forever, but it is understandable since each roll is made to order and the dragon roll i ordered seems to be one of the more complicated ones to make. Overall, the sushi was great. The service on the other hand was mediocre. When i went up to order, the cashier was talking on his personal cel phone and completely ignored me so i was just standing there waiting for him to finish his phone call. I received no apology afterwards.

Sarku Japan is my favorite Maine Mall food court option. Even though it's mall food, they have great sushi. I have eaten it dozens of times and have yet to be disappointed with the quality of the food. Sometimes the wait is a little extreme, but once you get the food it is worth it! If you're in a hurry or on your lunch break or something- ask the wait time before you place your order and pay. Theres been times when I've waited over 20 minutes, Yesterday though, for example, I ordered a spicy California roll and a sweet potato roll at around supper time and waited about 5 minutes. My three favorite rolls are the spicy California, sweet potato roll, and the chicken teriyaki roll- with those you can't go wrong. They are delicious and pretty impossible to mess up. The price is great- about $3-4 per roll and great for sharing among friends.

Not sure what the haters are doing here but this is a great spot in the mall to grab some quick japanese food for under $7 bucks! Best option is no veggie and ask them to double meat for $1.50! Food has been consistent for years here! By far best bang for your buck if you are just looking for a quick eat at the mall while your significant other is shopping...
